Meet the Staff at Abintra​​


IMG_0252.JPGRyan Paul Carruthers, MHR, MAC, LADC, LMHP, CPC
President & Executive Director

Ryan is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP), and Certified Professional Counselor (CPC) in the State of Nebraska, and is certified as a Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) by the Association of Addiction Professionals (NAADAC).  He holds a Master of Human Relations (MHR) from the University of Oklahoma and is currently working on his Ph.D. in Counseling Studies through Capella University. Ryan is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and also works as an adjunct professor at both Metropolitan Community College and College of Saint Mary's. Ryan provides continuing education classes to other substance abuse counselors and mental health practitioners in the State of Nebraska and has previously been a Certified QPR Suicide Prevention Trainer. He is also a Certified SMART Recovery facilitator, hosting Omaha's first SMART Recovery meeting at Abintra, and recently began serving as the SMART Recovery Regional Coordinator for the State of Nebraska.  Ryan has created Abintra’s programs for the Education Courses, Outpatient Program, Intensive Outpatient Program, and Adolescent/Family Education Course. At the end of the 2007-08 school year, Ryan was awarded Millard Public School’s “Expanding Horizons” Award for “Making a difference by enhancing students learning of curriculum through practical experience in the school environment.”

Steven R. Durant, AAS, PLADC
Outpatient Counselor

Steven is a graduate of Metropolitan Community College with an Associates of Applied Sciences (AAS) degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling. He is a Provisionally Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (PLADC) attending the University of Nebraska Omaha, working on his Bachelor's degree.  He eventually plans on pursuing a Masters degree in Counseling. Steven completed two internships at Abintra and has been employed as an outpatient counselor since February, 2011.

Outpatient Counselor
 
LeAnn has recently graduated from Vaterott College with an Associates of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling. She is also a  Provisionally Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (PLADC).  LeAnn completed her internship at Abintra and has been employed since July, 2012.

Julie D'Agosto, BA, PLADC

Outpatient Counselor 


 
Julie is a graduate of College of Saint Mary's with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Psychology & Human Services. She is a Provisionally Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (PLADC).  Julie completed a year-long internship at Abintra, for which she received the Gary Dean Skokan Intern of the Year Award and a $500.00 scholarship.  She been employed as an outpatient counselor since June, 2014.
John P. Czapenski, BS, PLADC
Outpatient Counselor

John is a graduate of Metropolitan Community College with an Associates of Applied Sciences (AAS) degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling. He has also recently completed his work on his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Behavioral Science at Bellevue University.  He is a Provisionally Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (PLADC).  John completed an internship at Abintra and has been employed as an outpatient counselor since June, 2013.
